Groningen used to be the richest province in the country, grown by grain and straw. How come few people still know that, and how are we going to ensure that Groningen will shine again? By showing the rich history and also and above all by showing the many new application possibilities for working with straw. The 'Gold of Groningen' in the lead, during the multi-day Straw Art Event. Large, impressive works of straw mark the festival grounds, where you can experience everything: theater, demonstrations with straw, history-exhibition and lectures, various straw art forms, and of course good food, drinks and tastings with grains as important ingredient.
